REcipe of the day….

October 9, 2005

actually yesterday but I didn’t test it properly til today….

Spreadable butter

1 pat butter (250g or there abouts)
1 cup extra virgin olive oil

put both into a processor on full speed until blended, splodge into a suitable tub and chill. It does set a little but not much to be honest.

The result is rather good - still very buttery tasting but very soft and easy to spread. Also free from nasty addatives as seen in most spreadable “butter” you buy.

A (manic) day in the life of…

also escaped Vegitales vid to do e-mails

Plan for later…

File small child
watch TV
have very early night

sigh, what an exciting life I lead….

ups, downs and bumpsidaisies…

she had a really wobbly start this morning, no idea why but she lay wailing for a while in bed before getting up, getting dressed and going and dmeanding breakfast quite happily…. I was still half asleep, Tim was up and about and each thought the other would leap to the wailing child you see…

We had a good morning in church, she did lots of singing and cuddling of anyone and everyone. This afternoon we both wroked on her room and there is definitely a bit improvement in there now. Sadly I now remmember just how awful th carpet is ;-) At her choice we had a Mozart for kids CD on whilst we worked, very pleasant.

Then she decided we needed to do yoga and she even joined in a bit this time!!!!! After that it was out to play with the kids next door and then it all went down hill :( After a few wobbles about the boys taking the ball away from the girls (remedied by Tim finding a second ball!) she decided to have a go on their scooter, fell off it big style and skinned both knees.

Cue “Waaaaaaaaaaaah” and lots of it. Arnica nowhere to be found but I could find the blank tabs (she had a phase of demanding arnica for every minor bump so I got some blanks!) so gave her one of those just to settle her. Then cleaned her up, put suitably huge plasters on her and she laid wimpering on the sofa for some time. Eventually found rescue remedy and real arnica tabs and things looked up a bit but she is still languishing on the sofa looking very pale and floppy.

We realised though, this is probably the first major scrape she’s had as normally she has dungarees on so they take the brunt of it leaving her knees unscratched. I suppose it must have been a bit of a shock to her!

God’s Jellybaby family….

Work with me on this one…. it was our sermon at church this morning and came complete with multi-sensory input… ie we all got a jelly baby to munch on!

Basically all the jelly babies now have names and characters (they are on the back of the packet honest!) and the Family of God has all sort of different characters too so we are like jelly babies. Actually it sounded better when Adam said it which is why he’s a vicar and I’m not.
